Feature Article Construction

To begin with I made the page a green colour as my story was based around being in the outdoors. I then added some darker green compass shapes onto the page so that it wasn't so plain and boring as that wouldn't interest the target audience and they helped to create a messier feel to the page.

The next thing I did was was put a quote from the main article on the green paint strip I had put in the bottom left hand corner. I put the text in the colour white with a black stoke around it so that it was eye catching to the reader. The reason for this is so that the reader sees this first and gets and insight into what the text is about and will be more inclined to read the article. The reason I chose the font I did was because it is a sharp almost scruffy looking font. I chose this font because it perfectly connotes the rock genre and this will attract the target audience more so than a regular font.

When it came to making the title for my double page spread I placed it in the top left corner on the first page. The title was 'Zombie Tour's Gory Road-trip' to create this title I used the same font as I did when showing this story on the title page I did this because it shows continuity throughout the magazine and the reader will be more inclined to stop on the page and read the article as it has already been shown on the front cover. Beneath this I placed the content of the article.I placed the article in two columns with a white spacing line in between the two paragraphs so that it didn't look like too much text as that would put the reader off I also used the grid tool to get the correct spacing between the text.

After this, I added the the image that covered the whole of the right hand page. Once I had put the image onto the Photoshop document I added a green/blue paper layer over the top of the image similar to what I did on my cover to page to create the same effect and darken the image. Once I had done this I put the text layer on top of the image so that the text stood out over the top of the image. Once I had done this my double page spread was complete.

The final thing I did was add the small neccesities like page numbers, and stating that I wrote the article and took the images myself and they belong to me.
